Lester tracks Sherry down to Big Momma's house and later puts her in danger. Malcolm swiftly breaks into the house, whereupon he tackles Lester and subdues him after John is shot, but at the cost of his disguise being dropped in front of everyone, including Sherry and Trent. After Lester is arrested and the money recovered, Malcolm finds that Sherry and Trent refuse to speak to him, heartbroken by his deception. When Big Mom decides to go on vacation early, John is convinced that their chance to catch Sherry will be ruined.

But Malcolm does not lose faith – he will simply disguise himself as Big Mom, and he will not be discouraged by the fact that she weighs more than 330 pounds. I expected a very bad movie, partly because I don't really like Lawrence, usually I can only get annoyed by that guy. We see Big Momma playing a pickup basketball game, including a reverse dunk that ends with her hanging from the hoop. This is all essentially an attempt by Lawrence to follow Eddie Murphy's disguise as a fat guy in "The Nutty Professor", and credit should also go to Robin Williams as "Mrs. Doubtfire". The whole enterprise has been ratcheted down several degrees in taste, however; while Murphy's funniest scene involves vast explusions of intestinal gas, Big Momma's noisy visit to the bathroom is scary, not funny. A soundtrack containing hip hop music was released on May 30, 2000, by So So Def Records.
When a street-smart FBI agent is sent to Georgia to protect a beautiful single mother and her son from an escaped convict, he is forced to impersonate a crass Southern granny known as Big Momma in order to remain incognito.
