For fans who are confused by the show’s fate, it seems safe to assume that the COVID-19 shutdowns likely had a lot to do with Home & Family ending. After all, unlike Hallmark’s other content that can be filmed ahead of time, Home & Family’s production could be shut down over and over again any time COVID waves came through.
The final episode will air on Wednesday, August 4th. Why did you cancel Home & Family and Good Witch? You even took off the Christmas movie on Thursday,, what is the purpose of that I’m? Now, I’m wondering what is going to happen to Countdown to Christmas.

You are not a station I can trust for family viewing. I never had to worry about my family watching but boy have things changed, you will lose your station and I have lost mine. I have been a devote fan of Hallmark until recently – they no longer represent the demographics of this country, rather they are favoring the far left. So sad to say good-bye to Hallmark, but I guess it has been a casualty of times. I, too, am unhappy with the addition of gay movies. I had a gay son who died at the age of 26.
Do not, and I repeat Do Not, mess with “When Calls the Heart”. I noticed that in the new Aurora Teagarden Movie two of the main characters were missing, Arthur and Sally. Hopefully they are coming back as they do complete a cast that is really good together. John should be written back in also, these cast members made the series what it is.

Maybe another channel that knows what they are doing will pick it up. When it comes to Cameron Mathison, it didn’t take him long to recover from losing his Home & Family hosting job. After all, only twelve days after the final episode of Home & Family aired, Mathison joined the cast of the soap opera General Hospital and he has starred in the show ever since. The show is set to resume filming its final episodes on Monday, March 29. It will return on Monday, April 5 with a new one-hour, three-day-a-week format.
In March, Variety first reported the news that “Home & Family” was going to be canceled. Prior to that, the show’s future already seemed precarious. The show had been on a long hiatus due to COVID-19 in Los Angeles. In January, the show’s official Facebook pageanswered fans’ questions, sharing that they had to temporarily suspend production in order to comply with SAG/AFTRA. The show’s return had just been announced earlier this month. New episodes were slated to begin airing on April 5, with production beginning on March 29, Deadline reported.

I always watched Hallmark and felt I missed out on so much because internet here is not that great and don’t get the Drama or Movies & Mysteries networks on our TV system. I was very disappointed Hallmark cancelled “Good Witch” suddenly, too. Thought there was a shake-up with the changes in movies and castings, and cancellation of this show; plus, I wondered about Home & Family. I was a longtime fan of “Good Witch” early movies and then the show.

What about Gary Sinise in “Fallen Angel,” “A Season for Miracles,” and others?? And I’m not happy with the casting choices of the past year or year and half oftentimes, either. While the series typically aired five days a week, it will be airing three a week due to the pandemic, but it means fans will have new episodes for longer. “For nearly a decade, the show has anchored our daytime lineup, featuring countless hours of cooking, lifestyle, DIY, health, entertaining, and decorating segments." The show originally made its morning debut in 1996 under the name The Home and Family Show.
