After Home & Family aired reruns for three months, it was announced that the show would be returning with all-new episodes. The Emmy-nominated series will wrap up this August when its current season ends, Deadline reports. The series finale will air on Wednesday, Aug. 4. Until then, we'll be over here watching Hallmark's Spring Fling movies and processing the sad news about Home & Family. Not to mention all of the fun visits from our favorite Hallmark movie stars like Lacey Chabert, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and Taylor Cole.
Mathison previously starred on “All My Children”as Ryan Lavery and was nominated for Daytime Emmys in 2002 and 2004. My wife and I will np longer watch any new Hallmark shows. It’s a shame when a family show goes the other direction.
Tell Me Lies Season 2 – will it happen?
In March, Variety first reported the news that “Home & Family” was going to be canceled. Prior to that, the show’s future already seemed precarious. The show had been on a long hiatus due to COVID-19 in Los Angeles. In January, the show’s official Facebook pageanswered fans’ questions, sharing that they had to temporarily suspend production in order to comply with SAG/AFTRA. The show’s return had just been announced earlier this month. New episodes were slated to begin airing on April 5, with production beginning on March 29, Deadline reported.
I always watched Hallmark and felt I missed out on so much because internet here is not that great and don’t get the Drama or Movies & Mysteries networks on our TV system. I was very disappointed Hallmark cancelled “Good Witch” suddenly, too. Thought there was a shake-up with the changes in movies and castings, and cancellation of this show; plus, I wondered about Home & Family. I was a longtime fan of “Good Witch” early movies and then the show.

Do not, and I repeat Do Not, mess with “When Calls the Heart”. I noticed that in the new Aurora Teagarden Movie two of the main characters were missing, Arthur and Sally. Hopefully they are coming back as they do complete a cast that is really good together. John should be written back in also, these cast members made the series what it is.
Then, Steines was replaced by Cameron Mathison in 2018. Season eight introduced viewers to the Canfield family. Elizabeth, as the local school teacher, welcomed the newcomers to Hope Valley. We’ve enjoyed watching the many hours of entertainment over the years and wish everyone involved our very best.

Just like a lot of other industries, the entertainment business was hit hard by the pandemic with many productions shutting down. Unfortunately for everyone involved with Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family as well as the show’s fans, it was one of the shows that were shut down. After initially airing on The Family Channel during the mid-‘90s, Home & Family was then broadcast by Fox Family Channel before finally winding up on Hallmark Channel. Given that Home & Family was on the air for so long and it moved between three different channels, it was easy to think that the show would survive just about anything. Unfortunately for everyone involved in television production, the vast majority of shows don’t last long assuming they even make it to the air, to begin with. In fact, there have even been some shows that were canceled after a single episode aired.
Hallmark got caught up in trying not to be caught in the cancel culture. Now, wholesome family movies are no more. They’ve added gay characters that kiss and people are dumping the network. While trying to include black actors in leading roles, Hallmark went completely overboard and filmed 14 Christmas movies this way.

Hallmark has so many good movies from years ago that they never air anymore, Christmas or otherwise. I’d like to see their earlier romance movies or dramas from Hallmark Hall of Fame. I had assumed it was all on the other networks I don’t get like their Movies and Mysteries or Drama.
You got rid of the WOMAN who made the channel a respite for WOMEN in today’s messed up world. Countdown to Christmas is now part of culture. As marketers you have to strike the balance between consumer demand and your pocketbook. Please don’t ruin this last bastion of escape.
You won’t need them if you have no audience. I enjoy Golden Girls but enough is enough. I don’t care for the other shows you have stuck in there and I know GG word for word. I want to see movies during the day after the Christmas in July. I feel so disappointed in HM right now over the loss of GW.
The daytime series was only airing three days a week, at 10 a.m. Eastern time Monday through Wednesday, when it was canceled. In its last week, after each episode aired it was followed by reruns of “The Middle” and “Reba” until 4 p.m.
Bring back the movies at least during the day. I don’t (didn’t) watch Hallmark for old reruns of Golden Girls or Monk. I would watch old Hallmark movies anytime as there are many that I have not previously viewed and many that I would not mind seeing again. But having 75% of your programing being old sitcoms is just lazy and cheap programing.
When Calls the Heart returned with season eight on Sunday, February 21. The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital alum Jack Wagner returned as Bill and led Hope Valley’s residents into the new chapter. These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released . The averages are based on the final national numbers . For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The series did run for 120-minute episodes, but these have also been scaled back to 60 minutes, which should result in a faster pace overall for the series. I will miss so many great things about Home & Family. Gardening, cooking, special guests, crafts, sewing,…everything to encourage a family to grow & learn. The show was rebooted in 2012 on Hallmark Channel. Mark Steines and Paige Davis co-hosted the new version but Davis left after six weeks and was replaced by Ferrare, a host of the original iteration. In 2016, Ferrare was dropped and replaced by Debbie Matenopoulos.
